In Catalunya, instead of a stocking, children beat a log with sticks to make it shit candy while singing this song:
“Shit log / shit candy / Hazelnuts and cottage cheese / if you don’t shit well, / I’ll hit you with a stick / shit log!”
Also, they put a shitting man in their nativity scenes. He’s called a caganer.
I brought both a Christmas Shit Log and a Caganer back from Spain when I lived in Barcelona and I totally forgot I had them. When I unpacked them, I felt the spirit of shitmas for the first time in a long while.
